Renew 169 Wellbeing Café, Towcester

Renew 169 Wellbeing Café offers a quiet space where it is okay not to be okay.  It is a safe space where people with emotional and mental health difficulties are welcomed, with an aim to reduce loneliness and isolation.  Visitors can be assured of a warm welcome and someone to listen.  Attendees have the opportunity to take part in activities, based on the `5 Ways to Wellbeing’.

NHFT Talking Therapies works with people across Northamptonshire who are trying to get back on track, although they may feel stressed, low or anxious.

Initial assessment by telephone and can offer a range of evidence-based talking therapies. Can provide therapy by phone, through video link, or face to face. This could be on a one-to-one basis or as part of a group.

Alternatively, you can sign up for our online programme and webinars, working at your own pace, in your own home.

Sane Textcare

Sane Textcare is designed to provide emotional support and connection at the times you need it most. This is a confidential service for those aged 16 and over, and each message sent will be individually written for you based on the information you give.  For this reason, you need to submit your request a minimum of 72 hours before the time you would like to receive a message.  Only one message can be sent in a seven day period.

Crisis Café Northampton

Mind Cafés have professional mental health workers who can offer you a safe space. Our aim is to support people to reduce any immediate crisis and to safety plan; drawing on strengths, resilience, and coping mechanisms to manage their mental health and wellbeing.

Professionals can also refer and direct you to further services if required.

Crisis Cafes are open to anyone 18 years old or over who are finding themselves in crisis or need support with their mental health. No appointment required just drop in:

Life at No.27 is a leading horticultural therapy and mental health counselling provider, built with passion at its core and designed to improve lives.

The Towcester allotment therapy site is based in the heart of the town.

All our programmes are designed upon using conversation, creativity in gardening, confidence boosting exercises, mindfulness and goal setting to help you express yourself and explore any challenges.

Cost: £0 with GP, social worker or psychiatrist referral. We do accept self-referrals as the first contact, but will require a professional referral following your first visit.

Gardening for Wellbeing – Grand Union Housing Group

Aimed at people who want to improve their mental health, sessions provide a stress-free opportunity to learn new things, share ideas and create a beautiful space for people and wildlife.

Sessions take place in Milton Malsor on Wednesday afternoons.

South Northants Volunteer Bureau (snvb)

snvb supports local people to provide services and help to residents so that they can lead healthy and enjoyable lives and to strengthen the voluntary and community sector so that it can thrive and make a difference to those who live and work in South Northamptonshire.

Garden Buddies is a community gardening service in which volunteers provide practical help to elderly and disabled people, who have no other means of support, enabling them to maintain and enjoy their gardens. Eligibility criteria applies.

Men into Extra Time is a new project run by snvb in conjunction with Brackley Town Football Club to develop ways of reducing social isolation and loneliness in older men.  Both these are major contributory factors to poor physical and mental health.
